Hurricane Update from Ken Tedesco
Dear USA and Toronto Lasallians:
In the letter below, Ken Tedesco of De La Salle High School, New Orleans gives us an update on the situation of De La Salle. I join with him in thanking all from our Region and all eleven Regions of the Institute in sending more than $400,000.00 to aid Lasallian hurricane victims. Other schools and individuals took in families and students, sent gifts and supplies. The solidarity shown by our Region has been strong and immediate. As you can see from Ken's letter, things still have a long way to go in the area devastated by Katrina. Your continued support is welcome.
This school year we have been called to dig deeper than usual to assist Lasallians. Your twinned schools in Africa are also in need of a great deal of support, so this Lent please continue your strong support of our African schools as well as our Lasallians in New Orleans. Lent 2006 may have to be one of special sacrifice as we show our solidarity overseas and here in North America.
